A lot of people are quite amazed when they learn that some people are actually making a living thru blogging. There are even those that were able to buy a house, buy a car, buy a laptop, buy an LCD tv thru blog. How did they do that? The concept is fairly simple, so to speak.
Today, I’ll try to impart some of the things I’m currently doing and though my earnings can’t be compared ‘yet’ with those that I’ve mentioned, it may be inspiring enough to those who love to write and yet don’t know that they can actually earn money from blogging.
Let me teach you the basics of how to create a blog and later on convert it as your extra income generating machine.
What is a blog?
The word blog comes from the phrase web log and although blogging became popular only recently, this phenomenon is not entirely new. In the past, several internet users have kept personal online diaries where they log their experiences and thoughts — and this is a precursor to what we now know as blogging. Two of the most popular FREE Blogs are WordPress http://www.wordpress.com & Blogger http://www.blogger.com. This blog All About Financial Planning was made using WordPress in an hosted website.
Creating your first blog using Blogger – and did I mention that its FREE!
It’s really very easy creating one. If you’ve been used to Friendster Blog or Multiply Blog, then you can do this even with an eye closed. And since I’m too lazy to elaborate everything, I just grabbed a youtube video tutorial that explains how to do this.
Once you’ve created your blog, now its time to Monetize it – meaning its time that we earn from it. This tutorial will then teach you how you to integrate Google Adsense in Blogger, so that whenever someone checks your blog and click on the advertisements, then a corresponding monetary equivalent will be credited to you. There you go, very simple, right? Now, you might be asking, how much have I earned so far from blogging? From the 4 active blogs that I have so far, here are the screenshots (see below) of my actual earnings from Google Adsense and Project Wonderful. Just don’t ask how long did it take me to accumulate these earnings, coz it didn’t happen overnight. 😀
