New Credit Card Fraud – BEWARE

August 28, 2014 | By Garry De Castro | Filed in: Credit Cards / Debts.

I saw this from a FaceBook friend with the title “BEWARE!!! BAGONG CREDIT CARD FRAUD MODUS OPERANDI“. I thought it was originally from her. Further reading revealed that the original author is her friend Kim Santos.

According to her post, someone pretended to be a representative of a credit card company and offered to increase her credit limit to P1Million plus freebies – imagine that! Good thing she had the presence of mind to call the credit card company after.

Below is her original post along with the photo of the Letter and Envelop used.

At dahil nakakaoverwhelm, inentertain yung nagdala nun letter at binasa yung letter.

To think 8pm na yon at may sumasagot pa. Nun hinahanap namin un sinasabing manager daw, biglang binaba yung phone at yung mga sumunod na tawag hina-hang na yung phone.

HINDI NATIN ALAM KUNG CREDIT CARD FRAUD LANG BA TALAGA YUNG INTENTION O PWEDENG NAGMAMATIYAG DIN SA LOOB NG BAHAY NIYO BAKA BAGONG MODUS DIN NG MGA MAGNANAKAW. IBIG SABIHIN LANG NITO, MAY NAKAKAACCESS SA SYSTEM NG MGA BANGKO KAYA SANA MAGIINGAT PO TAYO.

PLEASE SHARE SA LAHAT NG KAKILALA NIYONG MAARING MABIKTIMA NG MGA TAONG ‘TO.

Please SHARE to your friends to inform them and not fall to this kind of modus!
