Who would have thought that my attendance in this year’s Blog Summit will be my ticket in winning this amazing Samsung Smart TV. Yes, believe it or not, I just won the Samsung Smart TV contest exclusive for bloggers.

Here’s how it happened. Last April 1-2, I attended 7th Philippine Blogging Summit (Iblog7) held in Malcolm Theater, University of the Philippines, Diliman. One of the sponsors to this year’s event is Samsung Philippines. They had a booth that showcased Samsung Galaxy Tab and this super amazing Samsung Smart TV. Right then and there, I wanted to bring it home with me.

Fast forward, April 30 to be exact. They announced the sole winner of the Samsung Smart TV, and guess who’s the winner? Yep yep, I won, I won.

So what have we been doing with this amazing Smart TV so far? For one, it functions like our usual TV, just smarter that is. One difference is that this one has stunningly vibrant LED picture quality. Images, colors and actions look so realistic and real. And talk about saving space? We mounted it in the wall of our room.

And did I mention you can surf the net with this TV? Yep yep. I configured our WiFi to this amazing TV and whoala, we can watch TV and at the same time make twits / update facebook status, watch and read news online, talk to friends online and even play games online. Now, I don’t need to open my laptop while watching TV just to do the same tasks.

Here’s how it looks like. It has apps like the one that you see on Iphone or smart phones. You might ask, how bout the keyboard and the mouse? The QWERTY remote control takes care of that.

If there’s one person that’s totally thrilled with this TV, it’s no other than my mother-in-law, Nanay Dina. As you might not know, Ate and her family are currently living in UK. And just last night, we tried video calling them using Skype on this TV. She was very happy seeing her apo, (Gabs) on the wide screen TV, hehe.

My wife is no exception at all. Aileen and I have been actually planning on buying a Samsung LED TV for quite some time now. The built in video player is what amazes her. Imagine, just by inserting a USB drive with movies in AVI or MP4 format, you can automatically watch the movie. So what I did was, I distributed the speakers on the 4 corners of the room, connect it to the TV and we now have a surround sound system. Every night is a movie night for us. So far, we haven’t watched all of my movie collection in my external hard drive. You can also insert your digital camera’s memory card to instantly view your photos and videos. Just like what we did after we had this swimming-outing in 8 Waves Waterpark. Virtually, it’s an all-in-one multimedia package.

Oh, before I forget. My son Jacob (turning 3 this June) has never been happier since the arrival of this TV. You see, he is fond of watching Youtube. The looks in his face is indescribable as he now watch and dance to those ABC’s, 123’s and children’s songs in Youtube via our Samsung Smart TV. And since he sometimes play Plants vs. Zombies, I connected my laptop to the TV via external output and he is now playing on the big screen, talk about high tech, mabisyo kid, haha.

You must be thinking we must be paying a hefty amount for our electricity bill. Sorry to disappoint but this TV is very energy efficient. Samsung made sure that this product is eco-friendly.

I have dreamed of other gadgets in the past, nothing has surpassed this one so far. I wouldn’t call it as a must, but if you got the funds to spend and would buy a tv anyway, then this one is for you.
